Initial Setup

Enterprise Forms consists of three sub-modules: Form Template Manager, Data Collection Manager and Workflow Manager. It is recommended that each of these modules should be in its own page in your DNN portal. The following are instructions on a generic setup of Enterprise Forms for your DNN portal.

  1. Create a new page, named Ent Forms.
  2. Create a new page, named Templates. Make sure the parent menu for the page is the Ent Forms page. This page will contain the Form Template Manager module of Enterprise Forms.
  3. Create a new page, named Data Entry. Make sure the parent menu for the page is the Ent Forms page. This page will contain the Data Collection Manager module of Enterprise Forms. Note that you can create unlimited number of Data Collection Manager modules as each instance of the Data Collection Manager module is designed to be specific to only one instance of the form templates created by the Form Template Manager module.
  4. Create a new page, named Workflow. Make sure the parent menu for the page is the Ent Forms page. This page will contain the Workflow Manager module of Enterprise Forms. Note that you can create an unlimited number of Workflow Manager modules as each instance of the Workflow Manager module is designed to be specific to only one instance of the form templates created by the Form Template Manager module.
Your menu items should look something similar to the below:

  5. Go to page "Templates" and add Enterprise Forms modules to the page. This action will automatically add three modules to the page.
  6. Move the Data Collection Manager module to the "Data Entry" page using the module "Settings" menu provided by the portal. For further information on how to move modules from one page to another, please refer to this page: Move a Module.
  7. Move the Workflow Manager module to the "Workflow" page.
  8. For each of the modules, portal security roles will need to be configured because Enterprise Forms depends on the security roles allocated to these modules. In other words, if a user does not have read access to Enterprise Forms modules, the user will not be able to access contents provided by the Enterprise Forms modules. Please note, for the purpose of consistency, in a generic configuration all Enterprise Forms modules should all have the same portal access roles granted.
