| Overview of Modules | Your website is made up of one or more Pages. But pages do not display the information that website visitors come to view. This is the role of Modules.
Modules provide the information or functionality of your website in small pieces that may be combined in unique ways to make your website special. Modules can be simple like a piece of text or an image, or they can be complicated like an insurance premium calculator or an online chat utility. |
| Add Module to Page | Modules are added to a Page using the Control Panel of your DotNetNuke portal. |
| Move a Module | You can move a Module from one location on a Page to another. That might be changing the order of modules within a Pane or moving the module from one pane to another. You can also move a module from one page to another on your DNN site. |
| Delete a Module | When a Module is no longer needed on your DNN site, there are two ways it can be deleted. |
| Recover Deleted Module | The Recycle Bin is where Modules (and Pages) go when you Delete them from your DNN site. They can be recovered from the recycle bin until you empty it. Recovering a deleted module is very similar to recovering a deleted page. |
| Securing Modules | Sometimes you don't want to completely hide a DotNetNuke Page by securing it. Sometimes you'd rather have that page be visible and just secure some of the Modules on it. This is really useful to let website visitors know that they can access additional information if they Register and then Login. If a website visitor does not have access to a particular module, it simply won't be visible on the page. |
